Power Cable Construction Plan
To ensure the smooth completion of cable construction, promptly address various issues arising during the construction process, and guarantee the correct installation and safe operation of the cable lines, this laying manual is prepared in accordance with national standards. GB/T12706-2020 Rated voltage 35KV and below, extruded-insulated power cables and their accessories ) and GB50168-2018 ( Cable Line Construction and Acceptance Specifications ) and GB50150-2016 Compilation.
1. Precautions to be taken before cable laying
1.1. During transportation, handling, storage, and lifting, the cables and cable reels must not be damaged. It is strictly prohibited to simply push cable reels off trucks. Cable reels should not be transported, stored, or lifted in a flat position.
1.2. When handling and rolling cable reels (rolling is not permitted over long distances), it is essential to ensure that the cable reel is securely fastened. The cable ends must be properly tied, and the rolling direction must follow the arrow indicated on the cable reel (the direction in which the cable is tightly wound).
1.3. When transporting cables by vehicle, it is generally recommended to use a crane for loading and unloading. Cable reels on the vehicle should be securely fastened with steel wire ropes and wooden blocks. The vehicle’s speed should be reduced during transit. It is strictly prohibited to simply push cable reels off the vehicle when unloading. When lifting cable reels, only steel wire ropes and steel shafts specifically designed and approved through testing may be used. During lifting operations, a dedicated person must provide unified command, and comprehensive safety measures must be in place. It is not permitted to directly thread the steel wire rope through the holes in the cable reel for lifting purposes.
The following is a schematic diagram of normal cable lifting:

2. Requirements for cable supports and fixtures:
2.1. Cable supports shall be installed firmly and arranged horizontally and vertically. The crossbars on the same level of each support should be at the same horizontal plane, and their height deviation should not exceed. 5 mm。
2.2. The spacing between layers of cable trays and the distance from the lowest layer to the ground shall comply with the requirements specified in the design.
2.3. When installing cable supports in cable tunnels or buildings with slopes, the supports should have the same slope as the cable tunnel or building. At cable tunnel bends, the turning radius must be no smaller than the minimum bending radius of the cables on the cable supports.
2.4 The entire length of the metal cable support shall have good grounding.
3. Pre-laying inspection:
3.1 Before cable laying, cable tunnels, conduits, and passages shall be kept clear and well-drained; lighting and ventilation within the tunnels shall meet design requirements.
3.2 The cable payout stand should be placed securely, and the strength and length of the steel shaft must match the weight and width of the cable reel.
3.3 Before cable installation, the cable’s exterior must be free of damage. Only after the cable has been unrolled and found to be free of external damage can installation proceed.
3.4 Before laying the cables, check the cable specifications and lengths according to the design, and meticulously record the laying process, matching the cable reel numbers with the designed phase sequence and length.
4. Laying conditions
4.1 Laying temperature XLPE The primary insulation material for insulated power cables is cross-linked polyethylene. The metallic shielding layer consists of copper tape or copper wire, with either galvanized steel tape armor or steel wire armor. The outer jacket is made of flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene. Due to the differences in thermal expansion coefficients among these layers, significant temperature variations can induce stresses between the layers. When the cable is improperly installed or subjected to a bending radius that is too small, stress concentrations can lead to failures such as cracking of the cable's outer jacket. XLPE The laying temperature of insulated power cables should be higher than... 0℃ But the maximum should not exceed. 40℃ The cable should be allowed to stand still before laying. 24 During installation, if the ambient temperature falls below the cable-laying requirements, heating measures should be taken. If the on-site temperature is too high, construction should be scheduled to avoid the hottest part of the day. .
4.2 Before laying the cables, check that drainage in trenches and tunnels is unobstructed and free of standing water, and avoid construction during rainy weather.
4.3 Before laying the cable, inspect the cable route to avoid cracking of the cable jacket caused by an excessively small bending radius. XLPE The bending radius of insulated cables must not be less than the cable diameter. 15 Multiple (see the table below for details).

5 Cable handling
5.1 During handling, storage, and lifting, cables can be damaged due to improper operations, affecting both the cables themselves and the cable reels. Cable damage and deformation can render the cables unusable or make subsequent work impossible to carry out.
5.2 Handling Plan
( 1 It is strictly prohibited to transport cable reels horizontally or store them horizontally; moreover, it is absolutely forbidden to lay cable reels flat for installation.
( 2 The cables should be handled on cable reels. During loading, unloading, and transportation, it is strictly prohibited to drag them on the ground to prevent damage to both the cables and the cable reels.
( 3 When handling and rolling cable reels (rolling is not permitted over long distances), it is essential to ensure that the cable reel is securely fastened. The cable ends must be properly tied, and the cable terminations should be tightly sealed and well protected. If a cable reel without protective plates needs to be rolled, its guard plates must extend above the cable. 100mm Above, if the ground is uneven or the soil is loose, other protective measures must be taken.
( 4 ) Cable reels are permitted to be rolled only over short distances. The rolling direction must follow the arrow indicated on the cable reel (the direction in which the cable is wound tightly), and the surface of the road should be smooth, solid, and free of hard objects such as bricks or stones.
( 5 When transporting cables by vehicle, it is generally recommended to use a crane for loading and unloading. During lifting operations, a dedicated person must provide unified command, and clear safety measures must be established. It is not permitted to directly thread the steel wire rope through the holes in the cable reel for lifting purposes.
( 6 ) Strictly control the wire-laying speed, 35kV For cables of this type and below, the cable-laying speed should be basically controlled within: 15m/min The following: When the cable-laying path contains curved sections, the speeds of both the traction and conveying mechanisms should be appropriately reduced. Traction and conveying that are too fast can generate excessive lateral pressure on either the inner or outer side of the cable. ;

To promote the high-quality development of the enterprise and further enhance the core competitiveness of Jiaozuo Hanhe Cable Co., Ltd. in the wire and cable industry, we are now launching a public tender to assist the company in applying for the titles of “Excellent-Level Smart Factory” and “Digital Leading Enterprise.” The relevant tendering details are announced as follows:
Throughout my long journey in the cable industry, I personally took part in the pilot production of the 500kV, 2500mm² cross-linked polyethylene-insulated, smooth-aluminum-sheathed cable manufactured by Jiaozuo Hanhe in Jiaozuo. This experience is like a brilliant pearl, deeply embedded in the annals of my career, constantly inspiring me to keep moving forward.
