R&D capability
The Testing Center of Jiaozuo Hanhe Cable Co., Ltd. is responsible for inspecting various finished products, semi-finished products, and raw materials related to the company’s R&D, production, and procurement processes. The Testing Center boasts a research team with a well-structured composition: its core consists of highly qualified academic leaders, while mid-career and young researchers form the backbone. In 2022, the company’s R&D expenditure totaled 79.1282 million yuan, accounting for 3.8% of its sales revenue. In 2018, the company established the “Henan Province Ultra-High-Voltage Cable Engineering Technology Research Center,” which is equipped with advanced research facilities, testing instruments, and a fully-equipped experimental base—equipment and instruments that are among the highest in the industry. The center conducts a series of studies focusing on issues such as the electrical conductivity of ultra-high-voltage cables, production processes, and new materials, thereby further enhancing the company’s R&D capabilities and industrial application potential in areas like energy conservation, environmental protection, and consumption reduction. For nearly two decades, the company has been deeply rooted in the wire and cable industry in Jiaozuo and has achieved numerous technological breakthroughs in areas such as product manufacturing process research.
The testing center is located on the first floor of the company’s office building, covering a total area of 700 square meters. It comprises seven relatively independent, separate laboratories. The space is rationally allocated according to the cable’s physical and mechanical properties as well as its electrical performance, with each laboratory arranged to maximize spatial concentration in all directions, thereby facilitating instrument sharing and daily academic exchanges. The testing center is fully equipped with advanced testing instruments, including more than 60 pieces of equipment such as an open-roll mill, a flat vulcanizing press, material testing machines, a bridge circuit, a high-resistance meter, a densitometer, an aging test chamber, a plastic low-temperature brittleness tester, a thermal elongation test chamber, and a projector. These instruments enable the center to conduct over 30 different types of tests, covering the mechanical and electrical performance of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products.
The Testing Center focuses on specialized scientific issues and critical core technologies in the domestic cable industry, with a particular emphasis on new energy and photovoltaic technologies. It conducts research that features significant theoretical and technological innovations, centering on key scientific and technological issues such as the principles and technologies for sustainable resource utilization. Adhering to accreditation standards, the Center has established and continuously improved its management system, standardizing and controlling the entire testing process. The goal is to build the Testing Center into one that earns the trust of leadership, satisfies users, and establishes the laboratory as a well-known regional and influential national hub integrating talent development, scientific research, product innovation, and technology incubation.
